Excavator Tilt Bucket Setup:How hooked up tilt bucket with hydraulic hoses and valves

Hey everyone, I recently purchased a new excavator mud bucket attachment and wanted to share how I hooked it up and my initial impressions.

I’ve been using a Wayne Roy connector to interface with my equipment, which made hooking up the bucket straightforward. The bucket itself came with a hose that connects to a quick disconnect, allowing me to integrate it with my existing hydraulic system without disconnecting my thumb attachment. This setup means I can switch between using the thumb and the bucket by simply adjusting a diverter valve.

The diverter valve, which I got from Amazon, directs hydraulic fluid either to the thumb or the bucket, depending on which way I position the handle. It’s a simple yet effective solution that eliminates the hassle of disconnecting and securing the thumb separately. This setup cost me around $350 for the fittings and connectors from a local hydraulic store, in addition to the bucket itself, which was approximately $3500.

The process of setting it all up took some careful planning, ensuring I had the right fittings and pressure ratings to match my hydraulic system. The bucket attachment arrived promptly within three weeks of ordering, and upon inspection, it seems well-built and sturdy.

I’m looking forward to putting this tilt bucket to the test on the job soon. Once I’ve had a chance to use it extensively, I plan to share a more detailed review and performance. Overall, I’m impressed with the initial quality and ease of installation, and I’ll keep you updated on how it performs in real-world conditions.

If you found this brief overview helpful, please share with those in need.
